The 3rd street entrance to the 585 acre Prospect Park is directly across the street. The park was designed by Fredrick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux after they completed Manhattan's Central Park. The fabulous amenities, programs and activities offered by the park are too numerable to mention.

The 3rd street playground (also directly across the street) was updated in 2010
Just beyond the playground is the beautiful 90 acre Long Meadow- perfect for sporting activities, picnics, grilling, dog walking, sunbathing in the summer and x-country skiing and sledding in the winter
Also across the street next to the playground is the landmark Litchfield Villa
A few minutes beyond the Villa- the Picnic House (which has a cafe and a welcome comfort station with restrooms for park-goers) sits atop the mid-point of the Long Meadow
